So now onto our very
cold, but very lovely day out in Manchester.
Will and I made our way to our favourite
Manchester haunts for a day of shopping, tea and lots of food! Our first stop
was Home Sweet Home, the best cafe in Manchester, one of those little haunts
that have the most interesting walls, with everything from bicycles to plant
pots and the occasional motivational quote (and boy do I love a good
motivational quote), and of course they make the best breakfast and cakes
EVER...FACT!
We then pottered around the trendy Northern
Quarter, an area of Manchester filled to the brim with vintage and one off
goodies. The Northern Quarter is always the place I recommend to anyone
planning to visit Manchester, theres just so much to look at, such a quirky and
eclectic place.
Lunch time called and we headed over to
Oast House, an amazing thatched roofed building in Manchester's Spinningfields,
a fairly new addition to the centre of Manchester. At this time of year the
Oast house is pretty darn special with their Christmas teepee residing outside.
Lit by fairy-lights and an open log fire it is the perfect place to refuel with
a mulled cider and of course one of their hanging kebabs; mine halloumi, Will's
steak, drizzled with garlic butter on a bed of chips, it really is just
scrummy!
